||Japan,United States : Rockwell Collins signs agreement with Japans Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System, Inc. to enhance border security
||Rockwell Collins today announced a strategic agreement with Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System, Inc. (NACCS Center) to help secure Japans borders using the companys ARINC Border Management solution.
NACCS Center manages a system called NACCS for electronically processing inbound/outbound cargo and passenger information for customs and other relevant administrative authorities. The ARINC Border Management solution, in collaboration with NACCS, will enable Japanese government officials to review passenger information before aircraft arrive at their destinations, giving them time to identify high risk individuals before they enter the country.
The ARINC Border Management solution uses the passenger name record (PNR), a record in the database of an airlines computer reservation system (CRS) that contains the itinerary for a passenger, or a group of passengers travelling together.
PNR data is instrumental to strong border security, and Rockwell Collins was able to facilitate the beneficial use of that data for one of the worlds biggest economies, said Christopher Mackey, director of Program Management at Rockwell Collins. With more than 90 airlines flying into Japan, the key to our solution is our ability to, regardless of each individual airlines capabilities, send PNR data that is actionable to the Japanese government and other authorities that need it.
