||Australia,China : Qantas Freight wins exclusive contract to transport fresh Tasmanian milk to Ningbo, China
||During the first half of next year, Hobart International Airport is likely to resume scheduled international operations after Qantas Freight having won an exclusive contract to transport fresh Tasmanian milk to Ningbo, China for and on behalf of VAN Dairy.
According to Qantas Cargo unit, it would use its B767-300(F), wet-leased from Express Freighters Australia, for transportation of 50,000 litres of fresh milk per flight.
Following receipt of all government and regulatory approvals, the route will be operated once weekly, which however may be increased depending on demand.
the Managing Director of VAN Dairys parent company, Moon Lake Investments, Sean Shwe, said, There is a huge demand for fresh milk in China and the key to satisfying that demand is having a reliable freight partner with an established freighter network, infrastructure and support in China and expertise in handling fresh produce Qantas provides that.
