Headline : United States : Fetch Robotics join hands with SAP to offer virtual conveyor solution for warehouse and logistics industries
Summary : Fetch Robotics will be integrating SAP extended warehouse management (SAP EWM) application in its fetch and freight robots.

The fetch robotics system includes an autonomous mobile platform called freight and an advanced mobile manipulator called fetch. It even features fleet management software fetchcore, that will support the robots and incorporate with the warehouse environment.

Together the robotics and SAP EWM application will incorporate complex supply chain logistics with warehouse and distribution processes. Workers will be able to carry out repetitive tasks like goods delivery, pick and pack, and surveying.

Fetch Robotics' Virtual Conveyor solution will be using the freight robots working in concert with warehouse employees and the SAP EWM. Associates will be able to pick goods from shelves and places onto a container or a shelf on a fetch robot.

The picker forwards freight to the packing station either using mobile device or touch screen on the robot, after the pick-up of all goods. Soon after the worker concludes the task, SAP EWM will be updated with the completed order.

Fetch Robotics CEO Melonee Wise said, "It's an innovative combination of hardware and software that benefits warehouse operators and their employees."

SAP supply chain and logistics development SVP Franz Hero said, "The combination of Fetch Robotics and our warehouse management system means that warehouse operators benefit from more efficient operation."
