||United States : Apple plans third data center in Prineville; new warehouse and logistics center
||Fast-tracking the company's growth in Central Oregon, Apple has filed plans for a third, huge data center in Prineville.
The iPhone maker, which already runs one, 338,000-square-foot data center above downtown, is halfway through construction of a second, matching facility.
The latest plans call for a third of the same size. Each is almost double the size of the average Costco.
Phil Stenbeck, Prineville's planning directo, said, "My guess is they're planning on starting soon, sometime in July, maybe."
He added that Apple also plans a new 68,000-square-foot warehouse and logistics center.
