||Senegal : Bollore Logistics wins contract for Sinthiou Mekhe solar power plant
||Bollore Logistics Senegal has secured an industrial project logistics contract for client Optimum Tracker, in charge of the installation of the Sinthiou Mekhe solar power plant, which has an energy capacity of 29 MW, sited at around 140 kilometre from Dakar.
So far, and with operations ongoing, 129 containers have been handled from the unloading phase at Dakar port to the unpacking stage at the work site.
The total weight of the packages handled exceeds 2,500 tonnes, which was carried over 2 months between Dakar and Sinthiou Mkh.
Halfway through the installation stage, 15 handling agents participated in the operations involving unpacking and stowing at the storage and dispatch area on the solar power station site, whose surface is 64 ha.
On-site HSE Coordinator for the project, Sabaly, said "Staff awareness-raising sessions and vehicle and machinery inspections systematically take place as per our HSE management system. This is a fine demonstration of local staff training by the Large-Scale Works - Projects, Logistics, HSE and Technical departments."
Ghislain Fourastie, Optimum Tracker Project manager, added, "Bollore Logistics has proved its professionalism, providing the resources required for such a large-scale project."
